Clyde Wicks is once again organizing the “garage sale” at Harbour Chandler on November 3rd, and all proceeds go to the Nanaimo River hatchery to enhance our local salmon stocks. If you have any good used fishing tackle, boat gear, or related items please drop them off with Dane or Tim at Harbour Chandler so they can be sold to benefit this fabulous operation!

I took a wonderful crew out fishing October 12th, and the Chinook fishing has rebounded into a more “winter pattern” of active fishing composed of mostly undersized Chinook, but with two nice keepers in the mix. This was accomplished by bottom bouncing in 180 feet of water between the Grande and Whalebone. The Cookies and Cream spoon, and Blue Meany hoochie were lures of choice.

Prawning was slower, with about 50 prawn per trap.

Good fishing!
