Fishing Report for September 9, 2020

Chinook fishing experienced a dramatic rebound off the Fingers and Hudson Rock for the jiggers on August 27th and 28th. Clyde, Steve, and the boys had a couple of field days fishing Half Jigs in the bait schools, with numerous slot sized Chinook being boated. Thrasher is showing nice bait schools off the West side of the marker, and I hope to devote some time to jigging this week. Entrance was good for the trollers on the bite times, fishing the 180 to 220 foot depths from 160 to 200 feet on the riggers. T-Rex hoochies and anchovy in teasers were performing baits. Running small plugs off the Grande provided some fun on the Silver Blue, and I love the way the fish fight sans flashers. Hopefully this improving trend continues throughout the week.

Coho are in very short supply locally.

Ling and Rockfishing continues off Gabriola and Entrance Reef. Try medium herring in 35 to 100 feet of water.

Prawning is still very worthwhile off the Flat Tops. Good old tuna cat food fished on the 350 foot contour is the ticket.

  Good fishing!
