“In golf, as in life, it is the follow through that makes the difference.”

That quote by Dr. Seuss is just one example of the many lessons learned on a golf course.

And now, thanks to the Gabriola Recreation Society awarding the golf club with a grant, we are able to offer free golf clinics for kids eight years and older on May 6.

The fun-packed day will include a session with a certified teaching golf pro. Your kids can experience the thrill of hitting a ball, sinking a putt, or chipping their shot into the cup. Along with the fundamentals of the game, they’ll learn the etiquette of the sport. Stay quiet when someone else putts. Never stand behind someone swinging a club. Always fix any holes or divots left on the course.

Why not take this opportunity to introduce your kids to a sport that can last a lifetime?

Clinics will start at 10:00 a.m. Refreshments and hot dogs will be served at the end of the clinics.

You must pre-register your child by calling the golf club at 250-247-8822.

We’re also offering free family golf that day. Mom, dad and the kids are more than welcome to play our beautiful course. Junior golf clubs are available for the kids.

Another fun option - try out our FootGolf! Soccer balls and instruction included. May 6 could be the day your kids find a new passion, one shared by Dr. Seuss.
