Gabriola Auxiliary donates $34,500 to Island organizations

The Gabriola Auxiliary for Island Health Care Society presented their annual grants to Gabriola non-profit organizations during the Auxiliary’s AGM held on November 18. One of the projects receiving funds this year is the People for a Healthy Community’s Home Hospice program in the amount of $10,000. This is the Auxiliary’s signature community project it will sponsor for the next three years. Also receiving funds are the Gabriola Housing Society ($5,000) for the preparation work for the Affordable Rental Housing on Paisley Place;  The HOPE Centre ($7,500) for its Early Years Programs; the Gabriola Arts Council ($10,000) for the Healing Power of Art program; and the Gabriola Community Bus Foundation ($2,000) which will be used to subsidize bus travel for PHC clients.
