The Gabriola Island Kyokushin Karate Club has been very busy since the new year.  New and old students alike have been active on a number of fronts.

Regular classes each Tuesday and Thursday have been seeing 20-25 people most nights and Friday Nights fighting and fitness sessions have been quite  popular.

Three students travelled to the National Winter Camp in Okanagan in February for 3 days of intense but fun instruction from some of Canada’s best instructors.

Most recently, a sizable contingent of students, instructors and supporters from the club travelled to Surrey for the Lower Mainland Coloured Belt Tournament. Three students competed for Gabriola; Simon Reeves, Gill Parcher and Clara Culbertson. All did extremely well to show that our little dojo in the islands stacks up well against big city clubs. Simon brought home a medal for 2nd place in the Seniors division. Congratulations to all.
