RDN’s social needs assessment and strategy begins
The first region-wide social needs assessment and strategy in the Regional District of Nanaimo is now underway. The partnership between the RDN, Town of Qualicum Beach, District of Lantzville, City of Nanaimo and Gabriola Island Local Trust Committee will turn a lens on what families, children and youth need as well as how to improve social supports and address housing and homelessness, access to services, safe affordable transportation and discrimination and stigma.

Until November 30, 2020, Regional District of Nanaimo (RDN) residents who do not want to or are not able to repurpose their used collection containers can recycle them. This initiative was launched as a response to residents who expressed interest during the automated cart selection period in 2019.
