Daniel Paul Raymond Maxwell will next appear for a fix-a-date on September 29, 2020, charged with possession of child pornography.

On September 17, 2018, the Gabriola RCMP Detachment received information from the BC Integrated Child Exploitation Unit (BC ICE) in relation to a Gabriola resident, who was allegedly in possession of child pornography. An investigation was immediately launched.

After several months of investigation including the execution of search warrants, evidence to support the allegations had been gathered.

On May 29, 2019 Daniel Maxwell, 63, was charged with 1 count each of possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography and making child pornography.

At the time of his charging, RCMP did not disclose any further specifics with respect to evidence, including details around the items which Maxwell is alleged to have been in possession of.

Nor did RCMP confirm Maxwell’s current place of residence, only that at the time offences occurred they allegedly occurred on Gabriola Island and he was a resident at that time.
