Deer poached on Coats Drive

On May 16, 2020 Gabriola RCMP received a report from a resident of the Coats Drive area of Gabriola Island, of a deceased adult male deer, that appears to have been deliberately killed and had its antlers removed.

At this time, Gabriola RCMP are looking for anyone who may have knowledge of this incident to call the non-emergency line at 250-247-8333. 

Gabriola residents are reminded that buck hunting season is from Sept. 10-Dec. 10, or Aug. 25-Sept.9 for Bow hunting. It is an offence to hunt in residential area, and it is also an offence not to retrieve wildlife and remove the edible portions.
