The hearing for Adrian Picketts-Yoxall (20) and Eli Williams (20) in relation to assaults they have been charged with was delayed a week to this Tuesday. The pair had been scheduled to be in court Aug. 27 and 28 in relation to incidents which allegedly took placed Aug. 11 and 17 respectively.
As there were charges of assault against the two stemming from a home invasion they are accused of taking part in on Aug. 11, Gabriola RCMP requested the pair be kept in custody after the second incident took place Aug. 17.
A third Gabriola resident, Tim Caine, has had all charges dropped against him, which had stemmed from the Aug. 11 incident.
Cpl. Trevor MacKay said in regards to Caine, “Crown Counsel decided not to press charges against the person [Caine] who did not assault anybody, but is pursuing the charges against the other two who remain in custody pending next Tuesday’s hearing.”
Picketts-Yoxall and Williams are now scheduled to be in Nanaimo court on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
