Gabriola RCMP arrested Adrian Picketts-Yoxall (20) and Eli Williams (20) on the evening of Friday August 24th as a result of an assault which occured on August 17th, 2012.
According to Cpl Trevor MacKay, both are facing charges of Assault, Uttering threats to cause death and Breach of Recognizance. Both are local Gabriola residents.
Trevor said the two entered in to a home on South Road located east of the RCMP detachment.
“There was a confrontation in the door and driveway,” said MacKay.
The Justice of the Peace granted the wish of the Gabriola RCMP and decided to remand both persons in custody. They were scheduled to appear in Nanaimo on Monday August 27th. MacKay said the court proceedings for the August 17 assault were delayed until Tuesday, August 28 as the two had already been scheduled to be in court on Tuesday for previous charges laid.
Monday’s appearance before the court will be their first appearance for this incident.
The two, along with Timothy Caine (19) have already been charged in relation to a previous home invasion which took place on Sat., Aug. 11. The three broke in to a home on Gabriola’s south end while the occupants (including two children) were inside. Picketts-Yoxall was charged with two counts of assault after punching and pushing the parents in the home. Williams was also charged with assault for his part in punching the male parent.
MacKay said the judge on Monday will be making a decision on whether to release them or not, taking into consideration the pre-existing charges from the Aug. 11 incident.
