16 calls for service.

Two alcohol 24-hour suspensions served with the vehicles impounded. One impaired driving by alcohol with a 30 day vehicle impoundment.

Concert on the Green was a large success and well organized with no problems being reported to the police.

The Salmon BBQ was also well organized with a substantial crowd of participants.

Neither event resulted in any calls for service!

August 8 -Theft of cell phone, iPad, keys, wallet and cash from the Haven. Please call if you have any information on whom might have done this.

August 11 - The Gabriola RCMP received a request for assistance in the 707 trails.

A cyclist had become disorientated to their location and were unable to cycle their way out.

Cst. Hilland in his all wheel drive police vehicle, used his trail driving savvy and was able to locate the cyclist assisting them out of the forbidding forest. The RCMP always gets their cyclist.

August 12 - Two vehicle collision at Horseshoe Rd and North Rd. Minor injuries were sustained to the occupants of one of the vehicles.

The driver of the second vehicle was issued a 24 hour suspension for alcohol.

The infamous Gabriola Ferry Line-up.

You may already know this but the RCMP is only able to enforce the traffic laws when we get the opportunity to patrol Taylor Bay Rd and are not able to change how the traffic lines up.

If you are feeling like changes need to happen you may need to contact the appropriate agencies.

As Forrest Gump once said,” The ferry line up is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.”

“That’s a joke, I say that’s a joke son.” (Foghorn Leghorn)
