RCMP Report Feb. 2-12

Cpl. Nathan Dame

Detachment Commander Gabriola RCMP

Tuesday, February 13 2018

Update to an event last summer: William Clippendale has been charged with Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failing to stop at the scene of an accident. These charges are a result of a driving incident from July 25, 2017 on Taylor Bay Rd. Sounder file photo

Feb. 2 - Whole lot of shaking going on. An explosion was reported to have shook a few houses on Gabriola Island. Nothing was located that could have caused the shaking.

Feb. 3 - Extreme cow tipping. Someone has been getting ready for the cow tipping Olympics by pushing over the Silva Bay sign a few times. Cow tipping is not in the Olympics so please moooove on.

Feb. 8 - Slalom driving. A report of an impaired driver was received during the evening hours. Patrols for the vehicle were negative but it does appear the vehicle made it through without hitting anything. If we catch you we won’t give you a warning.

Feb. 9 - Where’s my bobsled? A vehicle was pulled over for a driving infraction and the driver was found not to have a valid driver’s licence. Some paper work was issued and they can now only drive a bobsled and maybe a luge.
