January 2 - A report of a break and enter in progress on Sharie RD. The RCMP attended and could not locate any signs of forced entry.

January 3 - 2:30pm the RCMP received a report of a collision on Taylor Bay Rd. Minor damage to the vehicles and no injuries were reported.

 January 4 - The Gabriola RCMP responded to a report of a domestic dispute. The RCMP arrived determining that it was a verbal argument and that no assault had occurred.

January 6 - A report of harassing text messages was received by the Gabriola RCMP. The file is still under investigation.

 January 6 - Another report of harassing text messages. This investigation has been concluded.

 January 7 - A report of an attempted break and enter on Berg Rd that occurred on Thursday night. The RCMP received the information 2 days after the incident. Unknown suspects removed the window screens but did not make entry into the residence. 

January 8 - The Gabriola RCMP are investigating a report of harassing text messages. Still under investigation. 

If you are receiving any harassing communications on your phone you can have the person blocked by your service provider. Another option is to change your phone number. You can report it the RCMP to have it documented and have the person spoken to by the police. If the behaviour continues then criminal charges may be decided on.

 If you feel your safety is in jeopardy and or there are threats to do harm to you please report it immediately to the RCMP. This also applies to social media and text apps.

The Gabriola RCMP would like to remind everyone that the elementary school is now back and to slow down in the school zone. We will be there to say hello to any drivers that choose not drive the posted school zone speed limit. If you are found exceeding the speed limit you could receive a fine of $196.00 or $253.00 depending on your speed.
