A tree has fallen across Taylor Bay Road, completely blocking all lanes of traffic. The tree is down between Ivory Way and McConvey Road, near the Yogi Statue. Cpl. Nathan Dame of the Gabriola RCMP said the road will be blocked until morning when crews will be able to cut and clear the tree.

Of particular concern to Dame is the tree is preventing emergency services from using Taylor Bay Road, effectively blocking off all of Berry Point and Phase 4 of the island.
