...About the Gabriola community, sustainability, climate change, and most importantly your health. The farmers market is back again, and local farmers are bringing their delicious products every Saturday outside of the Agi Hall. However, as we are just starting Stage 2 of the Covid re-opening, the usual hussle and bussle with visitors and tourists is missing so far, and now more than ever, our farmers need the local community support. We are so lucky to be able to access such a variety of fruits and veggies, but that could change if we don’t support their hard work. We all like to have a sustainable food supply, and the local farmers market provides an amazing opportunity for all of us to do our part and ensure we have the most nutritious fruits and veggies for at least 9 months of the year. This is also good for the climate and most importantly good for your health, as the produce is picked on the same day in most cases. It doesn’t get fresher than that.
