There are few groups more energetic than islanders in a world café meeting trying to come with a way to fix a system they clearly know is broken. Talk about a perpetual motion machine.
The question of course is who will listen to them?
But to use a phrase used often at the governance table at the Ferry workshop, this was all about pie in the sky dreaming. Eventually, we’ll all have to come down to earth and work within what the province and ferries will dole out to coastal communities.
But man oh man, even with only 30 people in the room, what a buzz as islanders work to try and make life better for everyone here.
Huge pat on the back to the Gabriola FAC and Sustainable Gabriola for hosting the meeting and giving us all the chance to brainstorm.
