Letter: South end shelter

Tuesday, October 10 2017

Maybe now we can have a rational, courteous, respectful discussion on what will happen to those of us in the south end should there be an earthquake or fire, etc. We don’t need to go to a “reception centre” in order to receive a cup of coffee and instructions to go to the north end. We need a place to shelter for a few days where there will be light and maybe even some heat. It’s likely that roads will be blocked by downed trees but there are plenty of us who could walk to the Community Hall. It’s time for the RDN to talk to south enders and come up with a plan that will actually work.
