Letter: Water concerns

Tuesday, June 14 2016

As a Gabriola Phase 4 resident, I am concerned about the offer of parkland and Church/Spruce road connection proposal reported in the May 31 edition of the Sounder. At first I thought it could be a good thing, finally getting a road from Spruce to Church, especially in the case of fire or other emergency. But then I realized that the road would be dependent on twenty-five new homes and further development in our area. With recent drought and global warming I wonder if we have enough water to support more wells? How will that affect the wells of those of us who live in Phase 4? I invite environmentally concerned citizens to speak up and to also provide input to the Gabriola trustees.
