RE: Dog sitting

Tuesday, November 3 2015

Dear Editor,

With respect to the dog-sitting controversy now skittering around our fair isle - it has brought to light the fact that a number of neighbourhoods are plagued by incessantly-barking or roaming dogs which annoy everyone on a daily and nightly basis.

I’m not sure why dog-sitters are blamed for this. These are peoples’ pets, not guest dogs.

Ironically, a dog-sitter or dog-walker in these neighbourhoods would alleviate the problem. They should be encouraged for the good of all - including the lonely, bored and frustrated dogs whose constant barking is a clear mark of distress.
