Maireid Reid and Arden Thorne will be heading off to the BC Festival of the Performing Arts from May 26th through to May 30th after being selected to represent the Upper Island in March 2013.

Chinook fishing is spotty, sporadic and selective. There have been some nice catches made occasionally off the Fingers and Bowen Island, but there is not much consistency to the fishery, yet.

Play Ball! Gabriola slo-pitch season kicks off this Saturday afternoon

Opening weekend is this Saturday for the adult slo-pitch league on Gabriola. Spectators are welcome to come down to Rollo and cheer on their favourite teams.

After two years being a team short, the league has returned to having seven teams.
