Pier Gallery Artists Collective is on the Move!

Pier Gallery Artists Collective

Press Release

Wednesday, June 23 2021

For the past 11 years, Pier Gallery Artists Collective at Silva Bay Marina has been a showcase for some of Gabriola’s most creative artists and artisans, and a destination of choice for both locals and visitors. As of July 1, the Gallery will be moving next door and will be housed in the former market building at Page’s Inn on Silva Bay. Overlooking the water, the building increases the footprint of the Gallery and becomes part of the activity and services of the Page’s Resort Group, including the Inn, the Sunday Market and the Fire Truck Grill.

‘We appreciate the great relationship we’ve had with the Silva Bay Shipyard and Silva Bay Marina and their understanding of the Gallery’s need to grow’, says Pat Rokosh, president of Pier Gallery.

“All of our members have loved the character of the building at the Shipyard and the interaction with our guests, and we know we’ll be able to continue that in this bigger, bright space.”

The building, which began as a market that served both Gabriolans and boaters, has been updated and will likely evolve as Pier Gallery settles in. Gloria Hatfield, owner of Page’s Resort Group, is a strong supporter of Pier Gallery and proponent of increasing options for locals and guests at the south end of the island. Hatfield said, “the Page’s Resort family has always loved being able to introduce the work of the island’s artists to visitors and the community alike.

“For years we hosted concerts and art shows right in the house at the Resort and more recently encouraged so many guests to wander the path over to explore the Pier Gallery on Silva Bay.

“And now to be able to provide space so that more Gabriolans can share and inspire others with their work is just plain wonderful.”

Pier Gallery will be open Saturday and Sunday, until June 27 and then open daily at Page’s Inn on Silva Bay beginning July 1.

To celebrate, the Gallery will be drawing for two $50 gift certificates – guests can enter beginning this weekend and the draw will be at the end of July.
