Fri., May 1 - Lulu presents Violinists Marc Destrubé and Jaron Freeman-Fox. 7:30pm at The Surf Lodge. Tix $20 Village Liquor Store; $25 at the door; $5 youth (16 and under). Renowned baroque violin specialist Marc Destrubé shares the stage with his former student, genre-breaking fiddler Jaron Freeman-Fox.

Sat., May 23 - Benefit concert at the Community Hall for Lou Gradanti, recovering from heart surgery and unable to work. Opportunity to give back to an esteemed teacher and musician.

Saturday May 16 - Opening Weekend of the Gabriola Farmers' Market at the Agi Hall. Traditionally open  10am to 1pm, every Saturday between Victoria Day weekend to Labour Day weekend.

Sunday, August 2 - 4th Annual Brickyard Beast 10km road race. "One of the toughest 10k Road Races in Canada! Come and Slay the Beast!"

Thursday, August 6 - Gabriola Lions' Club Concert on the Green. Gabriola Golf Course. 4pm. The biggest fundraiser of the year for the Lions' with roughly 1,500 people on the driving range of the Golf Club enjoying the music, food and dog days of summer weather.

Sat., Aug. 8 - 60th Annual Community Hall Salmon Barbeque. Fundraiser at (and for) the Gabriola Island Community Hall.

Saturday, October 10 to Monday, October 12 - Gabriola Arts Council Thanksgiving Studio Tour. Gabriola Island—the “Isle of the Arts”—has the sixth highest concentration of artists in Canada. While every day is a celebration of art on this lush and lively island, on Thanksgiving weekend the festivities reach dizzying heights. Island artists throw open their studio doors to tempt your senses with dazzling arrays of art! On October 10–11–12, the studios of sixty artists will be open for visiting and viewing from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Head to for more details.
