Letter: To everyone sharing the roads

Tuesday, May 12 2015

Motorists, to avoid hitting cyclists, or cyclists hitting you, please drive with your lights on full at all times. This is particularly important when the sun is shining. We can put on bright clothes and flashers, but if we can’t see you in our mirror, we might zigzag right into you.

Speaking of zigzag, a note to zippy cyclists: You go as fast as cars and don’t have headlights, nor do you have a motor. Please make some noise when you’re about to speed past me - “Passing on your left!” would do. Otherwise I might zig right into you, when I should have zagged to the side of the road.

Many thanks to all.
